NYCDOE Annual Arts in Schools Report: FY16

On December 14th, 2016, the New York City Department of Education released its Annual Arts in Schools Report for the 2015-2016 school year. According to the New York City Office of Arts & Special Projects (OASP), "The Annual Arts in Schools Report includes data about arts teachers, arts budgeting, space for the arts, partnerships with arts and cultural organizations, and parent involvement for elementary, middle, and high schools. The first Annual Arts in Schools Report was published in March 2008. These reports help school administrators, parents, and students understand how their schools are progressing towards offering universal arts education to all students."

This report reflects the second year of Mayor de Blasio and the City Council's historic commitment of $92 million in new money for arts education over four years. The Center for Arts Education is pleased to note that this year's report shows that the city's investment is already yielding significant results.

The citywide Arts in Schools Report is released December of each year by the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE).
