Check out CAE's Annual Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015.
Writes Jill Braufman, Board Chair, and Lori Sherman, Deputy Director:
Fiscal year 2015 at The Center for Arts Education (CAE) was all about capitalizing on recent successes through partnerships and collaboration. We served more schools in more neighborhoods than ever before, and our advocacy efforts were featured in The Huffington Post and at education conferences nationwide.
As a leading arts education provider and advocate in the nation’s largest school district, our expertise was in high demand. We partnered with Historic Hudson Valley on a new curriculum in 14 middle schools across the city, collaborated with the UFT Teacher Center and the Council of Supervisors and Adminstrators to offer arts integration workshops for educators citywide, and welcomed prestigious new worksites for our Career Development interns. We were invited to serve as a Founding Member of the Lincoln Center Global Exchange, and to join the Executive Committee of the New York State Blue Ribbon Commission on the Arts.
The following pages tell the story of CAE’s impact on arts learning policy and practice. It is also the story of CAE’s commitment to ensuring every New York City public school student receives an education that includes the arts, regardless of where their school is located.
